Should I change ConnectHV to unify statuses and posts?

I've got three thoughts about the way ConnectHV is structured, all pointing towards a similar conclusion:

1. Posts are an underused feature.
2. I've gotten feedback that it should be easier to share images of works-in-progress.
3. There isn't a huge difference between text posts and statuses.

I'm thinking that maybe statuses and text posts should be the same thing, with the ability to comment on a person's status and their status just being the latest post.
