I am an artist specializing in ceramics and computer aided design. Through wall sculpture of various sizes, I create contemporary and meditative waterscapes and skyscapes. Looking to connect with interior designers and art consultants.
Sarah Heitmeyer has been working in ceramics for 15 years and computer aided design for 8. Her dimensional wall art is created using a combination of digital design and fabrication tools with traditional ceramic production practices. She creates compositions that range in size from 12x12in tiles to 12 ft wide installations.
Her work is grounded in the idea that a beautiful experience has therapeutic value. She aims to transform public environments in wellness centers, transit hubs and hospitality with the support of restorative beauty.
Sarah received national recognition through an emerging artist award from the National Council on Education of the Ceramic Arts in 2019.
She received her MFA at the State University of New York at New Paltz and BFA from Alfred University. She completed a post baccalaureate program at Colorado State University, and has participated in numerous residencies and internships across the US.
She has worked for ceramic studios such as KleinReid, Kala Stein Design, ModCraft Tile, as well as in digital design and fabrication labs at the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center and Polich Tallix.
She exhibits her work nationally and her studio is located in Fishkill, NY, where she works on commissions for residential, healthcare, and hospitality spaces.
