I put 15 years of journalism experience to work for clients in a wide-range of industries and situations to increase visibility and profitability. My work includes media relations, crisis comms & content creation. Visual storytelling is my passion.
I started delivering the news at 13--newspaper boy turned news stringer turned Emmy-nominated news reporter. I had a news assignment editor (think Lou Grant) and if he didn't like my story pitches, I would not get paid. Having $14.000 worth of video gear to pay off, I learned how to hunt, gather and tell great news stories.
After leaving TV and print, I moved into public relations where I helped clients hone their message, work with the media and create content that would help to tell a positive story.
My newsroom skills helped me lead the national launch of a resort hotel; stop negative news coverage in multiple markets; develop media, community and fundraising partnerships; maximize client investment in community events and help to grow a local event into a national campaign supporting 19,000 American Red Cross Blood Drives.
In addition, I have shaped media pitches landing earned media coverage on the local, statewide, national and international basis.
Hands-on content creation skills (photography, video and FAA-compliant drone work) helps me develop content as media outlets continue to dwindle.
With a journalists drive and mindset, I collaborate with clients to find solutions to complex growth, communications and strategic issues.
